ABOUT US
Who We Are
We are a sports-based community organization serving young people and their families in New Hampshire.

With caring adults who serve as coaches, teachers and mentors, we provide a place of support and belonging at a critical time in a young person's development.

We are part of the National Junior Tennis League (NJTL) Network co-founded by Arthur Ash, a collection of independent youth development organizations serving local communities across North America. We and other NJTL organizations are funded in part by the USTA Foundation, the charitable and social impact arm of the United States Tennis Association, which is the national governing body of the sport and the owner and operator of the U.S. Open.
Since its 2012 inception, Advantage Kids has impacted over 3,500 children across New Hampshire, delivering more than 20,000 hours of tennis instruction and life skills training. In 2023 alone, Advantage Kids served over 1,000 children across 47 locations in New Hampshire. Through these efforts, we have earned recognition as a key organization in youth development, addressing both the physical and emotional well-being of children from underserved communities.
Programs
Advantage Kids’ afterschool program operates in 6- to 8-week sessions, four times a year, serving children aged 5-16 from low-income and underserved communities. Rooted in the NJTL model, the program combines accessible tennis instruction with character development and mindful mentoring to provide a holistic and enriching experience.
Tennis Instruction:
USTA and Safe Play-certified coaches deliver quality tennis lessons two to three times a week, emphasizing fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Character Development:
Each session will incorporate life skills coaching inspired by the Tennis Character Playbook by CITRS, designed to empower kids to reach their full potential both on and off the court. Coaches and mindful mentors will use tennis as a foundation for teaching valuable life lessons.
Mindful Mentoring:
Strong relationships are essential for youth development and success. Children thrive when they have stable, caring connections with adults, and mindful mentors play a vital role in providing this critical support.
